A working mom

That’s what I am.

And a wife.  Daughter.  Sister.  Friend.

It’s been hard to become the first though.  You realize pretty quickly how things change.  My breaks at work now consist of putting the little “do not disturb” sign on my door and pumping for Tori’s bottles for the next day.  I work hard from 8-5, then work hard again from 5:30-7 or 7:30, depending on when she decides it’s time for bed.  I then crash on the couch (usually to some horrible reality tv show), and lumber up the stairs at around 9 for my own bed time.

I still have a pile of towels and bedding from when my mom was here over a month ago that I need to do.

But life is good.  And I enjoy having those piles of laundry in the basement (see, even if you’ve been around the house you wouldn’t know it was there!), because it means that my life is full of other things.

And if all of this wasn’t enough, I’ve started taking photos for friends.  And I’ve surprised myself.

E – my friend’s gorgeous little girl

I think I do my best photos of people.  I try to take landscapes or other things, and I do ok, but I think I enjoy people.  I’m definitely still learning, but I’m so thankful that there are people around me who will let me practice.

And become a mom with three jobs instead of two.  But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  1. What a beautiful picture, Jessica!

  2. You’re doing a great job, Momma! =)
