So while I’m still working hard on my 101/1001 project, I think I’ve really discovered what set out to do when I started on the journey: find what I like to do and really do it.
I’ve found, over the course of the nearly 8 months I’ve been doing this, that I inherited quite a few things from my dad’s side of the family – the creativeness. If you’ve ever seen my mom (or a picture of me and my mom), you’ll know what I inherited from her side.
Now I won’t say that I’m creative in my own right, because I gain a lot of inspiration from all over (see those blogs down to the right? yeah, those are some, and there are many more I just didn’t have room for – but I’ll be reworking the blog to showcase those too). I enjoy seeing the fruits of my labor and enjoy sharing those with people, whether through people buying things or giving things away to friends and family.
I’m still going to work through my list – it keeps me focused and grounded. But, I think I’m going to concentrate even more on doing the things that I’ve come to love and look forward to doing when I get home… making wreaths and other home decor items, taking pictures, and now making jewelry (even though I’ve only made a handful of things so far, I know it’s going to be a blast – I’m hoping to have a giveaway in the next week or two, so stay tuned!) and editing pictures.
When I moved out here, all I would do was sit around and play video games. While I had fun, it was something that I did to do with S. I’ve now learned that he can play his video games, and I can sit beside him, doing one of my hobbies. We talk, laugh, and enjoy each other just like we did before. It’s just different. And better, I’d say (although S may argue my talking to him sometimes can interfere with the games).
So look for updates occasionally about my progress and tips/advice when I do things. But look more for more pictures and crafts, as my creative outlet is really going strong right now.
