My first fix it

I know I could’ve done so much more with this photo, but for not having access to my Photoshop, I did what I could with Gimp.

The before:

When I took this picture at the end of the brewery tour on Wednesday, I just knew right away what I was going to do.  Black and White with selective coloring.  The other letters distracted from the message: “Love”.  I could’ve gone with “In Love” too, but I thought just “Love” would be better.

So I pulled up the photo in The Gimp and used the masking tutorial I found back when I did the October Photo Hunt.  Here’s my final image:

It did exactly what I was hoping for.  It took the emphasis off the huge green G in the middle of the picture, and put the focus on Love.

Edit: I decided to post this in the Sunday photo challenge: Color Splash Sunday hosted over at Artistically Amy.  Head over there to check it all the other entries!

  4. Sweet choice! I love it!

  5. Thanks for linking up, Jessica! This is a great photo for selective color. It takes away the distractions without you having to fuss with cloning and blending.
