I cannot believe it’s already November. The weather here has been extremely deceiving, minus a few days here and there. Last year, we had already had a snowstorm that left us two feet of snow on the ground. Not that I’m complaining, but I’m ready to
buy wear some sweaters!
But I do have to say that probably one of the best things of being a home owner comes on Halloween. Seeing all of the neighborhood kids dressed up and finally being a house on the list of places to go to. We handed out candy and spider rings (which were a huge hit!)
And even Haley got impatient waiting on the kiddos to arrive
I completely misjudged when they would start coming, and was perched on the couch by 4 o’clock staring out the window in my orange shirt and black scarf waiting for them to ring the bell. Oops… only off by 2 hours.
But the kids were so cute – little princesses (both Disney and Star Wars types), ninjas, vampires, gangsters, and cartoon characters. Even some of the parents got dressed up. I’m not sure how many of our neighbors participated, but I hope we made it worth it for the kids to come through our little area. We had about 50-60, which is a pretty successful first year turnout!
S and I had an amazing time. We flipped back and forth between Sweeney Todd and the Steelers/Saints game then watched a horrible scary movie on HBO until we fell asleep.
I felt more rested and relaxed getting up this morning than I have in weeks. I think I needed the weekend to relax at home, clean up the house, and prepare mentally for the long week ahead.
Hope everyone else had a great Halloween!
