Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would have 30 followers! A lot of it is thanks to my fellow nesties, who are journeying through this 101/1001 day journey with me. So welcome to those who are new… I’m excited to have you along for this ride! Feel free to leave comments, ideas and suggestions… I love to hear anything and everything you have to say!
Right now, I’m sitting in beautiful Breckenridge, CO for a work workshop. It’s been full of information and networking, and I’ve definitely come a long way since last year… which was my first year (and, within the first 6 months of my employment). I wish S was here to share in the gorgeous weather and views with me, but with the recent developments (don’t worry… I’m getting there), he had to stay at home.
If you take a new look at my list, you’ll see a new line is italicized… Buy a house. That’s right. We are currently full on house hunt mode. After the experience on Saturday, while I really wanted that new build house, I was very hesitant to go back and deal with that woman. After conversations and emails with our buyer’s agent, our parents and some friends, we decided to step back from that purchase, and see a few resales in the neighborhood that were cheaper than the new house, yet were still pretty new. We saw 4 houses on Sunday afternoon, and fell in love (even more than the new build) with the 3rd house we went into. It’s all we can think about!
So we’ve gone through the preapproval process with a couple of banks to get their options and rates for us, and while I’ve been gone, S has been doing final house searches in the surrounding areas to make sure there’s nothing else out there. Our buyer’s agent has scheduled us another showing for tomorrow afternoon, and will be bringing a pre-prepared offer for us to put in, if we choose to do so. Therefore, I have to leave the workshop about 12 hours earlier than I was planning on, but this is such a huge decision and an exciting time that I want to be there to experience it (plus – my boss is ecstatic that S got a new job and that we’re looking at houses… even other people in my section are blown away when they hear his reaction). I took some pictures on Sunday, but I don’t want to post them just yet… not until we have put in an offer and it’s been accepted.
In other news: I’m going to buy my Tom’s Shoes this afternoon! I’m beyond excited to do this. I’ll post pictures of those for sure (and hopefully some other Breckenridge pictures).
